Hi Mom ...

I looked down and I saw you crying again today. Please don't ... it's wonderful here! There's soft grass, Mom ... lots of it ... perfect for running in and rolling in. And the sun is always shining, Mom, it's warm ... perfect for lying in. And there's lots of good food, and so many friends to play with. Lots of dogs, Mom, and cats ... but we're friends, we don't chase the cats. And there are horses, and hamsters, and guinea pigs and rats, and I even met a ferret yesterday! He was fun to play with, but he was a lot quicker than me. And there are no fleas here, Mom ... no fleas! They don't let them in. And I feel good here, Mom ... I don't get sick anymore. I can run as fast and as far as I want!

Mom, I found Romi, and Shadow and Ginnie, too! Shadow still likes to lick my ears clean. And I met Frosty too. I didn't know her before, but she said she's my great-grandmother. She's pretty, Mom! And I met a springer spaniel named Rowdy who says she knew you when you were two years old, and a fox terrier named Boots who says he saw you graduate from high school! They're all here, Mom, and they're all waiting for you, too.

I wish you wouldn't still cry so much for me, Mom. I saw you crying the other day and I tried to send you a sunbeam. Did you feel it kiss your face like I used to? I'm really fine ... I miss being with you, but I know we're gonna be together again someday. That's why we're all here, we're waiting for the people we love to come and get us.

Mom, I've watched you playing with Shayna and I'm so happy you have her. I found her for you, did you know that? You were crying so much after I had to go, and you were so lonely. And I saw that baby puppy with the funny little overbite and I knew she needed someone special, like you, to love her. Did you wonder why you absolutely HAD to go and see her that day, even though it was a long drive in the rain? It was because I told you she was your Shayna Brightstar, and you had to have her. Now I can play with my friends here, knowing you have a new little friend to be with you like I used to be.

Mom, I still love you ... I always will. And someday I know you'll come for me, and for Frosty, and Ginnie, and Shadow and Romi, and Rowdy and Boots too. What a wonderful day that will be! But don't come too soon, Mom. You and Shayna have a lot of living to do ... and we'll wait for you.

With love from Rainbow Bridge,
Kaylee
